Alternative usability testing
Five-second tests: Show a screen to a user for five seconds and ask her to write down everything she remembers. In task-focused screens, ask the user how to perform a core task, and then show her the screen and ask her to tell you her answer. Usability Inspection of Digital Libraries
The project has conducted a heuristics evaluation on a selection of digital libraries. The study not only informs the subsequent evaluation work of UX2.0, it is generally useful for the JISC Community and includes a survey of emerging interaction design patterns in digital libraries.
